LOCAL FEMALE ARTISTS TO WATCH

Kotah_art

Kotah_art is fresh on the scene but has making waves with her cyberpunk anime-esque illustrations. Utilising her passion for anime, she creates vivid and exciting colour scapes of feminine beauty.

Tess_s_art

Since moving to Leeds I recently met an art student named Tess, I was in awe of her drawing style. Having your own recognisable style in your artwork is such an important aspect of growing your reputation in the art world and Tess does this effortlessly. I can see her inspiration from the underground music scene within her work and this is why I think she is one to watch in terms of the art scene in Leeds.

Gyallrini

Gyallrini has been a creative inspiration to me for years. She has curated a number of exhibitions including an exhibition in Keighley titled 'Bendico' in which she showcases a number of local talent in West Yorkshire. She is a fine artist who mostly works painting stylised figures and expressionist more traditional pieces of art. She also posts a lot of experimental sketches and really demonstrates her thought process in her work which is something personally I feel that I do not do. I perhaps need to connect back to my routes with working through sketchbooks. The experimental process is very important in the creation of works. But I feel my graphic design background has me striving for perfection the moment I illustrate a design.
